GEMINI DANCE STUDIO – Class Guidelines 2024

Welcome to The Gemini Dance Studios. The studio is situated on the main road in Lanner next to the petrol station. The entrance is the white door on the main road side of the building.

We hope that you will have fun learning a new skill and making new friends.

Gemini Dance Studio is located on the main road in Lanner, and is easy to spot. There is plenty of parking in the side streets or along the main road in the designated areas. Please note, though, that there’s a bus stop immediately outside the studio so please don’t park there.

We aim to keep a good relationship with our neighbours, so we kindly ask you not to park on the petrol station forecourt, on or blocking the private lane next to the studio and leave plenty of space to all driveways in the area.

When you arrive the entrance to the Studio is the white door on the main road side of the building. There is a waiting room down the hallway on your left, where you can change your shoes. Your dance instructor will call you into the studio from there.

We invite you to use the hand sanitisers which are located around the building for you to use.

T’s & C’s

Please do not attend if you have a cold or if you or any of your household is displaying any COVID symptom.

Please bring a bottle of water with you if you can (there is a small kitchen where you can refill your water bottles).

If you think you might need it after exercising moderately, please bring a towel.

Full payment is required before the start of your course.

If you tell us at the time of booking that you’re going to miss a week due to prior commitments, we will adjust your fee accordingly.

Refunds will only be available if the class is cancelled due to staff illness, or because of a change in government guidelines.

HELPFUL HINTS

Partners
If you come as a couple, you will not be asked to dance with anyone else except the staff if we feel it will help you. We will not take offence if you prefer that we don’t.

We use hand sanitiser between dancing with pupils and each other, we may ask you to do the same.

What to Wear
Clothing

Wear something comfortable – layers are best as the studio is an old granite building that can be cold in the winter. You’ll want to take off layers as you warm up.

If your coat is wet, we’d be grateful if you would hang it on one of the coat hooks in the hallway. Please ensure that you take any valuables into the ballroom with you.

Shoes

We recommend that you bring a change of shoes, especially if it’s raining as damp soles can affect your movement on the dance floor.

For your own safety, please don’t wear rubber-soled shoes of any kind – they can stick to the floor and will stop you moving correctly.

Since you want to be able to move your ankles freely, boots aren’t suitable for dancing.

Ladies should wear the height of heel that they are comfortable in, but sling back shoes or wedges are not suitable.

If you decide that dancing is for you then it is worth investing in proper dance shoes. These have suede soles so that you can feel the floor – but they cannot be worn outside. I have a supplier in this country that I deal with: I keep some pairs of shoes in stock, and can order others as required. If you are interested, we can discuss shoes with you.

If you have any other questions then please contact us.

We look forward to seeing you soon!

Chris & the staff.
